Flights into Fiumicino arrive late, and flights out leave before dawn. Neither is a problem here: you can let yourself in at any hour, without anyone sitting up at a desk waiting for you. Check-in is normally from 4pm and Ylenia likes to welcome guests in person, but if your plane lands at one in the morning you get the instructions in advance and simply walk in. Check-out is by 11am, with an hour's flexibility when the room allows it.
Three ways in from the airport
By car or taxi it is twenty-eight minutes, mostly on the ring road and Via Aurelia, which is the quickest option late at night when the roads are empty. The SIT Bus Shuttle runs between the airport and the city — seven euros one way, thirteen euros return, checked on the operator's own site on 20 September 2026 — and from the centre you continue on metro line A to Battistini. The third way is the train to Termini and then line A to the end of the line, seven minutes' walk from the door. If you are landing after midnight, the car is the only one of the three that still works.
Early departures
For a flight at six in the morning you need to leave here around four. A taxi booked the night before will be outside the door; the street is easy to find and easy to stop in, which is not true everywhere in Rome. There is no breakfast to miss, and nobody to wake up: you leave the keys and go.
Free parking, if you are hiring a car
Street parking in the area is free, and often directly in front of the house. If you pick up a hire car at the airport, you can keep it for the whole stay without paying a garage, and use the metro on the days you would rather not drive into the centre.
What you get for the night — or the week
Two rooms, each with a private bathroom and space for up to three guests, six in total if you are travelling as a group with the same flight. La Tosca is the larger of the two, with a private patio onto the garden; Turandot is more compact, with a work corner. Both have air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a television and a fridge. There is no kitchen to cook in, but there is a Nespresso machine, a kettle and a microwave, and a washing machine for a small surcharge — useful at the end of a long trip rather than the start of one.
And if the flight is only part of the plan
The house is not only an airport stopover. Battistini, where metro line A begins, is seven minutes away on foot, and the Vatican Museums are nine minutes from there without changing train. Plenty of guests book one night around a flight and end up staying three.
